Does there have to be a reason to do things?
Like, you always used to do something because something else spurred you on, but what if that thing disappears? You’re left with nothing to keep you going. No reason to keep drawing or writing or doing anything, because there’s no reason to right? If you loose that reason then what’s the point in doing anything…
There doesn’t have to be a reason if you love doing it.
There also doesn’t have to be a reason to stop something if you don’t like it.
It’s not that I don’t enjoy it, I just don’t have any motivation to draw any more sort of, idk ahha it’s weird lol
Oh, I understand that. When that happens I just do something not art for a while, such as playing games or watching videos. Then, I just go back and try again the next day.
Sorry for butting in but…
Definitely what Drans said before! There shouldn’t be too many outside sources for motivation when it comes to something you love!
Consider the following: I love drawing. It’s a passion, and also a developing career option. But that passion was starting to run dry for… some reason, idk. I took an entire week-long vacation to play FFXIV ((which I also quit for the same reason: no motivation or will to play lmao.)), and today is my first day back to “work” so to speak.
That week on FFXIV was the best week gaming-wise I’ve had in over a year. And today, I feel more motivated to draw today than I have in literally a month and a half.
It’s crazy what a change of scenery can do for a person. It would definitely be a good idea to immerse yourself into something you haven’t done for a while to refresh yourself and make things seem less stale. Maybe start taking walks in the park if you can, not every day mind you since it’s summer and carrying 50 water bottles around is a pain. Just like once a week or smth. Binge watch Lord of the Rings.
