Maytal_Error, Day 5: Grey text day! Speculate who/what the voice is, perhaps even draw them!
I have so many darn theories on this, not gunna lie.
Debating if I wanna list em all but… eh. ((it got long so lemme just…)) I recommend reading the post entirely before you decide to check the mess of tags lmao.

1. W.D. Gaster.
Oh lawdy, the obvious one. “But everyone and their grandmother’s already done this type of thing, and mama Xedra’s more creative than that! That can’t be it!” See, that’s fine. Xed is definitely more creative than that. But that doesn’t mean it’s a BAD thing to do it.There’s so little known about canon Gaster ((and NO, fanon Gaster isn’t the same as canon. >_>;;)), one could easily manipulate his presence in a story to suit a theme like this. Plus the fact that the voice is grey-texted could also hint at that, since he seems to have a very canonically grey theme about him. And yes, while Gaster speaks entirely in uppercase Wingdings, it could be a possibility that, visually, the voice is incredibly quiet, and this fact is being emphasized by the lowercase dialogue. But there’s also the possibility of…
2. CORE!Frisk.
Yet another obvious one, though this is the theory I support more fully than the Gaster one. CORE!Frisk is also grey-centered, and frequently travels timelines and I’m fairly certain they can communicate through them as well? Too lazy to fact check that one… There’s also fact that the comic utilizes upper and lowercase when certain characters are speaking, like when OT!Papyrus and OT!Sans were around. I’m also fairly certain that Frisk as a whole would speak with proper grammar (( lol ))… Which brings us to:
3. Sans.
Yeah. And not just ANY Sans. HIS Sans, the “Sans” part of him reaching out past the weird amalgamation between him and Error. Kind of like a conscience, if you will. Ready for the guilt-trippy messages and some such, though spending much of his time not talking since y’know, Sans is lazy. But it follows the fact that the dialogue is all in lowercase letters. Furthermore, since the dialogue is also in Fatal’s glitchy text font and it seems like Blueberry can’t hear it at the end of chapter 2, it’s likely that this is an inner monologue of sorts. Would explain the murky dialogue at the beginning too; Fatal was just waking up and could barely think out a coherent thought, let alone hear his inner demons whisper sweet nothings to him.
And there ya go. Wonder if any of this junk was remotely accurate. >w>
I also headcanon the voice as the ghost of his Papyrus haunting him and trying to guilt him into not murdering everyone, but that’s just me, more on that in the tags.
