With a vote 3-2, Net Neutrality was repealed

“What I am pleased to be able to say is the fight to save net neutrality does not end
today. This agency does not have, the final word. Thank goodness.” – FCC Commissioner Mignon Clyburn

You heard the woman. The fight is NOT over. It does NOT end today. This agency does NOT have the final word. This initial repeal means we have to fight HARDER and without mercy. This repeal will go to Congress and they will have the final word to repeal Net Neutrality or to keep it.

THAT MEANS YOU HAVE TO CONTACT YOUR REPRESENTATIVES TODAY. Mignon Clyburn and Jessica Rosenworcel confirmed it at the hearing, our protesting does work! Clogging their phone lines, emails, and fax machines does get their attention! Use the sites you have been using like BattleForTheNet, SaveTheInternet, and continue to text RESIST to ResistBot At 50409, free of charge! (Despite the rumors of not doing this, THIS DOES STILL WORK) Send your personalized emails, whether long or short! Call your representative’s offices and read scripts found on the internet if you don’t know what to say! Non-Americans who want to help! CONTINUE TO SPREAD THE WORD OF WHAT TO DO! WORD OF MOUTH WORKS!

THE FIGHT IS NOT OVER. WE CAN STILL WIN THE WAR. ROLL UP YOUR SLEEVES AND GET IN THERE!

Phew..

Take a deep breath and repeat after me:

We will not lose open internet tomorrow. Even if the repeal goes through, we will not lose our open internet tomorrow. The process is longer than that. I’m posting this again, because there are a lot of people who are under the impression that if the vote goes through tomorrow that we won’t have access to the sites we love, which can happen, but tomorrow’s vote is the beginning of a long war.

Please take a deep breath and keep calling your reps.

Thank goodnes!
They did the right thing
Good news for Creators and Patrons!

I didn’t take a very big hit from the madness, but it is kinda nice to know people won’t be overcharged for their pledges.

finally something good happens :’D

I haven’t seen a post on my dashboard about this yet but THANK!! YOU!! PATREON!! This is the best piece of news I’ve seen all day, since this means I can:

  1. Resume my $1 pledges right now,
  2. Resume my own creator account without feeling like shit that my friends and supporters are being forced to deal with this, and
  3. Just flat-out NOT have to deal with setting up Ko-Fi or something else for this type of reward system.

And yes, while you say in this article that you broke trust with creators and patrons alike, I can tell you one thing, in my own opinion:

You still realized your error here, and instead of just going with it, you decided against your changes. That’s better than almost every other company I’ve seen in the last several years. So, honestly? Thank you. For listening to everyone in the long run. You’ll find a way to sort this out somehow, someday.
