An absolutely CRITICAL part of mermaid social etiquette is to ALWAYS swim at head height or above with other mermaids. This prevents both mermaids from harming each other via their tails, fins, and other appendages.
This etiquette is also intended to symbolize equality – regardless of whether you’re a coastal mermaid, a small freshwater mermaid, or a 50ft tall deep sea mermaid, everybody is deserving of equal stature.

It’s also based off of a friend of mine’s idea where one’s characters are split apart, and are either Pure Good or Pure Evil, which pulls strongly from the vices and virtues! Too bad I got it wrong the first time around, because it was supposed to be the Good pulling from the Vices, and the Evil pulling from the Virtues, but oh well! It’s still a super rad drawing anyways.
Plus a Pure any which way KK would hide his trait behind the opposing one anyways. So the mess-up is fitting.

Going to hopefully be doing my own version of inktober this year! I’ll be trying my best to keep up with it. This will also be my first time doing inktober so who knows it’ll either go great or totally suck lmao!
